Wes Brooks

A storyteller by trade and by instinct, Wes Brooks serves as Senior Writer at BREAD. He shapes the words that carry our clients’ brands into the world through headlines, campaigns, web copy, scripts, and the longer-form work that gives each brand its voice. His job, simply put, is to ensure the way our clients sound matches who they actually are.

Wes earned his bachelor’s degree from William Carey University and has spent more than twenty years across sales, customer service, grant writing, development, and government relations. Before joining BREAD, he served as the principal fundraiser for USM’s DuBard School for Language Disorders, where he led capital campaigns and secured major gifts that quietly transformed the institution. That work sharpened his ear for the gravity a sentence could bear: he learned to be the voice for those struggling to find their own.

He also has a history as a working musician, which shows up in his writing more than you’d expect. Years of watching audiences respond to a song taught him how language lands in real time: where it tightens, where it lifts, where it loses people. At BREAD, that instinct makes him a steady hand on projects where every word has to do real work. Outside the BREADquarters, Wes is a former contributing columnist for The Pine Belt News; a 2013 graduate of ADP’s Leadership PineBelt program; Past President (2014-2015) of the Rotary Club of Hattiesburg; and a proud husband to Shane and father to Campbell.
