Ron Mumbower, Ph.D

Director of Employee Development

Dr. Ron Mumbower leads our Employee Development division, working with organizations to unify teams and build the strategies that move them forward. He applies psychological principles to organizational culture—studying workplace dynamics, management approaches, and team working styles—then collaborates with leadership on the processes, training, and long-range plans that turn insight into change.

Ron earned his master’s and doctorate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has been in practice for more than thirty-five years. He founded a well-regarded counseling center earlier in his career, and that work gave him an unusually deep familiarity with the human dimensions of organizational life: conflict, transition, grief, stress, the patterns that quietly shape how people show up at work. His specialties span employee development, leadership coaching, conflict and crisis support, and several clinical areas that complement his ability to meet a team where it actually is.

Ron operates from the conviction that the past is a teaching tool, today is to be lived, and tomorrow holds genuine hope. That orientation shapes how he works with the leaders and teams BREAD and Blue Hen send his way: he helps prepare the road ahead and clear the obstacles in it, so the people he serves can do the work they were meant to do. Outside of practice, he spends time with his wife, four sons, and grandchildren, and travels internationally to teach future therapists.
