Maegan Knight, CPA

Maegan Knight believes good finance work is really a promise: knowing we’re in good shape today means we can continue to build and create tomorrow. As our Director of Finance, she keeps that promise for BREAD and our sister organization, Blue Hen. She translates budgets, forecasts, and financial realities into language that everyone can act on, whether you’re just starting out or leading the way. For Maegan, every person’s work shapes the story in the numbers, and her role is to ensure that our team and the clients we serve can see those numbers clearly enough to claim them as their own.

Maegan grew up in Hattiesburg, setting her sights on accountancy early and earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Mississippi State University. She became a CPA in 2012 and has since explored nearly every corner of the finance world. From public accounting to global manufacturing, from guiding a university foundation to steering budgets for a major industrial group, Maegan has always looked for the meaning behind the numbers. She thought she’d found her forever job, until a conversation with a lifelong friend, our very own Jennifer Davion, opened the door to BREAD. That’s when she understood everything she’d experienced in her career had been the prologue to her arrival with us.

Maegan knows that every number tells a story, and she is well-versed in translating them internally and for our clients. She works alongside our leadership to connect financial clarity to marketing performance, uncovering the patterns that show our clients what’s driving their success and where the next opportunity lives. The moments she treasures most are when a forecast finally makes sense to someone who never thought it would. That gift for clarity is matched by her sense of what matters most to her: faith and family always come first, and the rest finds its place. When she’s not at her desk, Maegan and her husband are chasing concerts, catching beach days, and making memories with their three girls. And if you ask, she’ll admit she almost finished high school convinced that she was going to be a hairdresser, a small reminder that every story has its surprises. Maegan is our steady hand, turning numbers into something we can all believe in, and we’re grateful to have her.
